The Wellbeing Room Podcast - Season 2, Episode 30
In this episode I chat with Marlo Fisken, founder of Flow Movement.
Marlo has been a mover all her life and she continues to explore movement and dance in unusual and innovative ways. She is probably most known as a pole dance innovator, having started experimenting with the pole well before there were mainstream competitions.
Her business, Flow Movement, was born out of her desire to share the benefits of fluid, creative, dance-based movement with the world. The Flow Movement approach invites all people to move with imagination, sensuality, and sensitivity and to become more comfortable being on and playing with the floor.
Listen in as Marlo shares:
how she uses music as a catalyst for movement on a daily basis
how to identify movement hunger signals and overcome mental hurdles when it comes to practising movement regularly
how the environment and the use of props can enhance movement variety and creativity
the cultural and environmental factors that influence the way we move (or don’t move)
how play and exploration are essential for any movement practice
one thing that has improved her own wellbeing and helps her get more out of life.
