Welcome to The Wellbeing Room.
In this episode, I interview Danielle O'Donoghue.
Danielle is a Yoga teacher, whole foods chef, mum and all-round amazing human being. She lives in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney and teaches classes, workshops and retreats from her gorgeous purpose built studio, the Octagonal Space.
Danielle and I met many moons ago, in our early 20s. I’ve always been amazed by Danielle’s passion for whole food and gardening. I’ve asked her to join us in The Wellbeing Room today to talk about all things food and I’m sure we’re going to uncover some interesting things.
Listen in as Danielle shares:
her experiences growing up with whole food and the evolution of her relationship with food
how pregnancy created a paradigm shift for tuning into her body’s nutritional needs and her advice to women for choosing foods to satisfy cravings when pregnant
the difference between omega 6 and omega 3 oils and why it’s important to avoid foods containing certain types of oil
how our eating choices can create isolation and the importance of building healthy whole food communities
the impact that supermarkets have on us when it comes to making healthy food choices
how the process of fermenting and sprouting grains and seeds can be used as a way to help food become more digestible and makes nutrients more bioavailable
the steps to soaking and fermenting grains, such as brown rice, and their importance in healing the digestive system
her top tip for wellbeing and getting more out of life.
